A Dell laptop AC adapter is a device that charges your battery when your computer remains out of power. Like all others electronic devices in this world, also an  AC adapter also can encounter some problems. For example, you can connect the adapter to your  Dell laptop and notice that your computer is not charging.

In this situation, check if the adapter is not damaged in any way or if the computer is not damaged or harmed. Also a damaged power cord can lead to this kind of malfunction too. In order for a computer to charge, ensure the AC adapter is compatible with your computer. If it’s not the correct type of AC power adapter, than the computer won’t charge. A power cord must be firmly connected to the AC adapter. To verify this is really happening, remove the AC adapter from the laptop, unplug the power cord, take out the power cord from the adapter. Then attach the  power cord to the adapter and push the power cord into the adapter until it clicks. After you’ve done that, you can be sure the power cord is indeed connected into the adapter and to the computer itself.

If the power adapter doesn’t display a solid green or blue light, then the adapter may be defective. If the computer is under warranty, obviously Dell adapter is too and you can contact without worries the Dell Contact Support Center. If the adapter displays a green or blue light, then everything is alright and the adapter is not the problem.
